Morgan Gostel joined the Global Genome Initiative as a postdoctoral fellow in September 2015. Morgan manages outreach, training, and development of the GGI Gardens program and is using phylogenomics methods to explore species-level evolutionary relationships in Moquiniastrum (Asteraceae). His research interests include angiosperm systematics, comparative phylogenomics, historical biogeography, biodiversity conservation policy, and the role of natural history collections for genomics. Dr. Gostel received his Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Policy from George Mason University.
